" A carcass rotting" it is strong expression. I agree with carcass but not rotting.
Digesting is different process than rotting. There is no oxygen in your digestive track 
I mostly cook my own meal too.

No junk food for me I make all my food from scratch and my dogs food.
I’ll never detox again, it ruined my stomach flora and fauna and my allergies came back with a vengeance 
But yes, there seems to be someone to misunderstand every concept

Not in my tract. Just made my first Rot Kohl and it worked deliciously. Will a dandy wine work as well as a tea??lol
