Avoiding plastic bottles is good for the environment as too many of them get thrown out and become rubbish rather than recycled. Also they then break down into micro plastics that end up in the food chain.

Not just the water but all the plastic bottles. Unfortunately, many countries, like Vietnam, have little safe water and most drinking water comes in plastic bottles.
