My late partner's son is a doctor and he admitted (and studies have shown) he got little training in nutrition. To many medical students/doctors food is just food.

One thing I did notice was the picture of rice. White is not a good source of nutrition as most has been scraped off. Brown is much better. However, it can go rancid and needs refrigeration and it takes longer to cook.

@Wildgreens I subscribe to a monthly periodical called "Nutrition Action Newsletter" [cspinet.org] It's an independent group (no industry connections) and, to me, worth the cost.

Thanks. I'd heard of complete protein dishes such as Rice & Beans and I long ago heard about not requiring animal amino acids but I didn't know that (from the link) any single whole natural plant food, or any combination of them, if eaten as one’s sole source of calories for a day, would provide all of the essential amino acids and not just the minimum requirements but far more than the recommended requirements.

I suspect that my particular vegetarian diet will not be impacted much by this idea but I'll definitely have to study up on it. Lol. Thanks again.
