I think that my awareness of the differences between Mormonism and more "mainstream" Christian sects did allow me to view other religions with more criticism when I grew older. I like to think I would have reached the same conclusions eventually had I grown up Mormon in Utah or protestant in Texas, but because of the insulation it might have taken longer.
