I'd like to have a conversation specifically with people who have moved from the States to another country. How difficult was it, how did you find work and lodging, how long did it take to settle in, etc? What do you like and dislike about where you are?

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.From what I have read the worst part of expatriating is filing US taxes every year. I have a former boss who moved overseas and then after retiring founded an accounting firm dedicated to helping expatriated Americans cope with the IRS. Some expatriates, like Tina Turner, eventually get tired of the paperwork and renounce their US citizenship.
