I'd be delighted if you looked at my new blog post and told me what you think of it.
Great blog post Hellbent! I gave me enough pause to question whether my vituperation against the Republican party is warranted. I have a friend who thinks that is all just "rich, elite f*cks" pulling the strings behind the scenes. I've tried a bit to convince him that the Democrats are, at least, better. I think we have been headed toward oligarchy in the US but I still think that the Democratic party would be better for the poor and working class and marginalized people. Anyhow, sorry from one US citizen for the spectacle that our government has become as of late.
Enjoyed your blog. It is easy to believe the worst, I look at a persons actions. If words and actions match we have a winner (or loser as the case may be). Politicians seem like they are almost a separate species of humans. I realize I am in the U.S. and do not have aa wide a view as some but actions really do speak louder than words. Everything we needed to know about trump, Kennedy, etc. was out there long b4 they were elected.
Sometimes the choices really suck. What do you do if that happens? Sometimes your choice doesn't count and if you did get your choice would it make a difference? It's become a mess out here.
@Hellbent. Awwww brother. Thanks for putting it out there.
As critical as it could be. In fact at one point I was wondering is there any political person you actually look up to. More than endowment effect I believe it's the prejudice for the in-group.
@Hellbent, even though the conditions that led to our evolving the tendency to be part of a group may be in the past we still are wired as social creatures, right? I think it's just natural that we form groups. I have learned the hard way how some fundamentalists judge and act and, maybe it's lazy, but I rather not tangle with them at this point in my life. The problem is that I have made some pretty serious mistakes and now find myself craving the safety of a group or subculture. Do you think that is a short-coming? Who likes loneliness?
