LINK Prison strike 2018: federal prisoners work factory jobs for much less than the minimum wage - Vox

Another point, beyond the obvious humanitarian stance is that these programs are leeching jobs( that would be required to pay minimun wage/offer benefits etc.) Away from the general public. How long are we going to let these people continue to take advantage of the american people and pay for the privelege?

And too many people are locked up for long sentences for shit that shouldn't even be crimes.
