I agree. QWhen I think of our planet being destroyed, I do not think it is some religious promise. I think it is obvious that the planet is in grave trouble over fossil fuels polluting the atmosphere and plastics that never die. I watch a documentary THAT SHOWED THE OCEAN FULL OF PLASTIC. Plastic is predicted that it will cover all water by 2050. That is unless we come up with a solution. The glaciers are melting at 7% per year. I saw a documentary on Sweden, and it was sad. Great rich land and good water being destroyed by fossil fuels. I watched a brief documentary a couple days ago. It was raining in Anartica! The climates all over the planet are nuts. We must develop products that curtail and cure this damage. The process of fracking for coal or oil is extermely dangerous to our water supply. The pressure exerted by the fracking process cause the earthc limestone layer to change into gravel. The is a gas RELEASED THAT WILL COMBINE WITH THE LIMESTONE that is deadly poisonous. If it pollutes the earth's water supply, their is no cure. The poison it deadly to all life that needs water to live. It is time for the strong of our planet to unite internationally, because the money hungry governments could care less. We must save the earth for our children and grandchildren!

We have been in the end times since the invention of Jesus. I like the expression, "Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die". James Thurber has a great story which he tells in his book, a Thurber Carnival about an aunt who believed that electricity was flowing out of empty light bulb sockets. The story includes a character called the Get Ready Man, whose line is "Get ready, get ready, the world is coming to an end!". If these are really the end times, then I will go out laughing.

The problem is, it seem s to become a fucking self fulfilling prophecy, as they are ruining the planet they feel is doomed anyway, and even hasten to bring about Armageddon to meet their maker sooner. if only they were raptured out of here yesterday.

It is quite possible. I consider Trump, whom I refer to as 45, as one of the Antichrists. If there is such a thing. Not only that , but I got an email yesterday. Basically it was reporting the doomsday clock had now moved to 2 minutes till midnight, with midnight as doomsday. The clock has returned to a position it was in during 1953. They claim the change in the movement ahead is due to climate change, all the fighting in the world, and the mighty deeds of Trump.

I heard they said that in 1880... 1900... The mayas ran out of stone in their calendar so must be the end... I remember when the jehova witness built a house for jesus and mary return to earth and was of course their leader home until they get here at the end... they were forced to sell the palace. During the 1940's was the end... 1960's was the end, 1999 was the end, 2002 was the end. Next week they are going to say it is the end. 2038 they are going to say is the end... 2058 they will say it is the end. So Why The Fuck To Worry?

Muslims believe this end of time is coming too, and oddly Jesus is included in the scenario too ,except he won't be batting for the Christians he will be gunning for them.

It is a pure and simple cult of death......

One of my daughters and her husband (who is an ordained minister) are absolutely convinced that the end of days is imminent. They interpret most anything that happens in current world events as fulfilling part of the prophecy. What's worse is that they have indoctrinated their 8 kids, mostly successfully, with the same outlook.

Meanwhile, all I can do is shake my head because it's nothing but a bunch of nonsense.

This is a big part of irrational thinking. End time have come and gone many, many times yet these people are convinced the next one is the right one. I have heard all the insane things they do to get their heaven. Just another example of a heaven filled with fanatical, insane, violent, stupid, cowardly, arrogant people. This is not a heaven but a hell.

FFRF published one of my letters where I theorized that this is like the Santa Clause idea. Kids behave especially good around Christmass because Santa will give them presents. Immediately after they get their gifts they revert back to their own true selves. Once these people get their "reward" what's to keep them from reverting to the bad people they say we atheists are because we don't subscribe to their system of rewards and punishments?

So they are actually right? The ultimate potential Darwin award candidates.

It’s absolutely terrifying. Especially with their idol in office. But this world has had world ending word of god acts happen numerous times throughout history. And we are still kicking. Their is always going to be fanatics. It’s life. People are afraid of not knowing so they latch on. It’s just a problem because they believe you need to believe it to or die.
We need to stand up to them. Push out oil. Push in endless energy sources such as solar and tide converters. We need to spam the general populace with science and they willl wake up a bit just as they have with all science throughout history.
