A teacher told me that I should not read the classics, Plato, Aristotle and the stoics etc. since they had been superseded by modern thought and were of no value any longer, (He was a theist and a far left aristocrat !). So being a kid of course, I just had to read them. I did not understand all of it, did not agree with all of it, but I did know that it answered some of the lies that I had long felt I was being taught, then I knew I was not alone, and that the whole education system was a cult.
