But she implied that Mercury is tidally locked with one side always facing the sun. It has been known since the 1960s that its tidal lock is in a 3:2 spin orbit resonance. It doesn't always have one side facing the sun.

@phxbillcee It would actually be better if it did keep one side facing the sun all the time, as there might then be a twilight zone in between super hot and super cold where you could survive.
@Coffeo Larry Niven, & some other Sci-Fi authors have written about that very thing.
