If it's a cold, hard documentary, I can watch one on almost any subject. It also seems to me that oftentimes, producers take an amount of artistic license.

I love docs of all kinds, but I tend to gravitate towards music docs the most. Science. Politics. Sometimes I get into food docs.

My all-time favorite is "New York: A Documentary Film," a multi-part series on PBS a some years back. A fascinating look at the city I love. It was produced before 9/11, and then one more episode was made after. Other than that, I really like the Ken Burns documentaries, particularly "The Civil War."

Cosmos, both the new (well, comparatively) one with Neil Tyson (Netflix still has it I think), AND the old one (you can find it on Youtube) Carl Sagan. Both are well written, and the Sagan episodes are so brilliantly low tech it becomes adorable (if a bit slow paced). One of the few documentary series I actually wanted to watch more than once, which is pretty unusual praise for a doc.

History.....O mean Herstor.....I mean...Ourstory Docs are a staple.....Russian history as of late..

I watch alot of docs. I also listen to them while I fall asleep at night. Last night I fell asleep (aka stayed up til 3am binge listening) to Death Row Stories. I know that isn't the happiest bedtime story but Susan Sarandon is the narrator and I thought her voice would be soothing.
