LINK Britons View Atheists As More Moral Than Believers, Religion More Harmful Than Good

An eye-opening survey conducted in the UK reveals a truth many in the United States will find shocking. When asked if atheists are more or less moral than religious people, our allies across the pond favor atheists.

The British feel those who identify as atheists are more likely to be good people. In fact, 12.5% of Britons believe atheists are more moral, while only 6% say atheists are less moral.

Fewer than a quarter of Britons believe religion is a force for good. On the contrary, over half believe religion does more harm than good. Even 20% of Britons who describe themselves as ‘very religious’ are on record stating religion is harmful to society.

In the UK Christianity will have died in the next few generations.
Given the choice children don't want to go to church and if forced stop as soon as they are able.
Even young Muslims are turning away or simply paying lip service to their beliefs and almost every Jew I know under the age of 40 claims only to be culturally Jewish.
In an enlightened and educated society religion cannot thrive, which is why the religious are trying desperately to retain the grip they once had on schooling, not to further it, but to censor it.
Those who cling to creationism and fundamentalism are beginning to either totally embrace it and become flat earthers or are becoming so aware that they are objects of ridicule that they rethink their stance.
Christians are becoming aware that their leaders and elders are condemning the Chinese for rewriting scriptures while in effect censoring their own.
Hypocricy is rampant and can no longer be hidden under the guise of sanctity and even the less educated in the developed world are beginning to see the problems.
Which is why the only place being bombarded with missionaries and showing church growth for all faiths are those places where education is non existent and there is no internet, the biggest enemy religion has ever faced, an infinite source of free information and open comment.

There may still be setbacks, such as Blairs creation of so called "faith" schools which are known to have held back the education of many children. We should not get too comfortable yet, there is still much to do.
