Inspired by the Netflix series, "Tidying Up With Marie Kondo," I went through my extensive book collection and culled books no longer useful like Webster's Dictionary and self-help bullshit.
Books that no longer spark joy:
"Addicted to Danger" by Jim Wickwire and Dorthy Bullitt. The story of a selfish man who neglected his children and wife by risking his life and watching friends die, trying to climb the world's highest mountains for 40 years.
"The Happiness Hypothesis" by Johnathan Haidt, Ph.D. Written for psychiatrists. Yawn.
"A Whack on the Side of the Head" and "A Kick in the Seat of Your Pants" by Roger von Oech, Ph.D. I got enough of that from raising my daughter and dating.
Pacific Northwest native tribe's legends. Instead I enjoy books by Native American authors.
Enjoy the tweets!
A book by a native American author you won't want to miss is Linda Hogan's, "Solar Storm." Incredible tale that puts you on the inside of the struggles of the indigenous people of America.
Thank you for the book recommendation. I appreciate it.
I'm reading "Solar Storm" by Linda Hogan now. Thank you.
@LiterateHiker I hope you enjoy it. I really like Hogan's style.
If self-help books worked there wouldn't be so many........
I rolled all of my towels and now the towel pyramid in my closet is awaiting the first person who messes it up...
I gave up several books as well that were so dusty I was afraid they would spark a fire...
I am never throwing away another box...she has shown that a box within a box within a box can really keep your things tidy...I managed to use eight boxes in one swoop...some of them only have one thing in them, but I can at least find it...
ha ha ha Good job...declutter your space, declutter your mind...
The 'box within a box within a box' comment is hilarious! And yet...it works.
