Why "Jeebus"?

(No sarcasm intended)
I often see people refer to Jesus as Jeebus. Did I miss some inside joke, somewhere?
I'm a "full-blown" atheist/antitheist.
Is "Jeebus" used to avoid "taking the Lord's name in vain", or what.
I'd appreciate a serious answer.
Thanks in advance.

Many of us refuse to use the traditional honorific titles used in religion, where the names of things are used to invoke reverential response. Thus, gawd, the babble, jeebus, xian, etc etc....

Ok.
I thought I had missed something, somewhere.
Thanks, guys.

I do it to make it blasphemic.

I THRIVE on "challenging" the prick.

@KevinAverett Would not be hard. You smack him on the rear, he'd turn the other cheek...
