Unless they are the sharing type and want to share new tech...then no...yes it would be nice to meet a new specie but are we friends or food...lol

I voted yes, in the sense that you change “will” for “would”. If it is a more ‘will it actually happen?’ type question, I have no idea. Perhaps, and if it did, yes, I think it would change many things.

It depends how and where it is discovered.

Is it life, Jim, but not as we know it?

Is it intelligent life of just self-replicating chemical compounds?

Or did it discover us?
