The attacks on socialism stems from the Bolshevik uprising most of the world’s leaders saw that they were vulnerable and could be overthrown from their positions of power.

So they either created policies and practices that had some of the traits of socialism so that communism would be less likely to take hold.

But there was also responses that came in the form of violence against anyone who proposed unionizing as well as anti political or civil rights demonstrations.
And eventually our country has chosen welfarism as pacifying supplement for the masses.
