Here's the real danger of Trump's "emergency" declaration. Our only hope lies in the fact that he's not actually intelligent enough to realize what powers he could be wielding.

These powers were never meant for someone like Trump. Come to that, the Presidency was never meant for someone like Trump; someone who would declare a national emergency in a fit of pique over funding for his favorite budget item.

Congress had better get control!

That was my thought, back in the Bush II administration when they were a rubber stamp for whatever W and Cheney wanted to do. Now it's verging on too late. And what party let it go this far? (Answers on a postcard, please.)
