Anyone notice the prevelance of this in discussions, even with people you basically agree with?

It's human nature. We're all very prone to it. It takes real effort to avoid it.

It's super common, even among skeptics. Or, we might say ... among humans. However in my experience, skeptics generally do a MUCH better job of being aware of this tendency, and pushing back against it.
