The Golan Heights was stolen by Israel, during the '73 Yom Kippur War, and never returned to Syria. It is just as much of "strategic importance" to Syria, as it is to israel. What business does Trump have "recognizing" other countries' illicit territorial acquisitions? The sooner we get rid of these Trumplerite fascists, the better!

The Golan Heights have been annexed into Israel and that's that.
If Syria hadn't attacked Israel in 1973 then maybe Israel wouldn't have had to relieve Syria of those precious heights.
@SidneyWinston I stand corrected. Israel stole the Golan Heights in their 1967 Land-Grab war!
