If you listen to what she said in context, she didn't really down play 9-11, so much as generalized so it woudl include all terrorist actions instead oof just the one.
If Trump had any kind of civility, he might have discussed the issue with her before putting together an inflammatory video which whipped up the haters so she how has to have private security for her and her family members.

I don't believe she has ever said anything in support of terrorists.
Unlike Trump who said the violent Nazi protestors s in Charlottesville were "good people".
