What would you do in that situation? Share your oxygen and turn back? Share and die? Fascinating that people will do this

"Because it was there?" Dumb reason.

Because of the lack of oxygen I wonder if many of them are even thinking straight at that point. So much of it seems to be done for 'bragging rights' alone.

So many problems with treating nature like a thing to conquer, regardless of the loss of life, money, and environmental damage. Seems like so many of these tourists weren't prepared or aware of the risks to their safety and their lives. Personally, I've never had the urge to do a lot of the activities that 'adrenaline junkies' do...or maybe it's the finances...ha ha. A person has to have a lot of money to have this sort of 'hobby'. But the thought of all those frozen bodies along the path and oxygen-deprived people just walking by them like they are just bundles of wood....creepy and unsettling.
