Donald trump is different. Yes we are a very divided society, and party affiliation continues to be a very large factor in whether anyone likes or dislikes a politician, but Donald Trump is different. 6 to 7 out of every 10 people polled disapprove of him. And, I suggest that more then half of those disapprove to a very high degree. An unprecedented high degree. And their disapproval is not based on, or clouded by, his gender or his ethnic heritage. It's based on how he conducts himself, and his general fitness for the high office (his character), and his inability to articulate and pursue coherent, productive policy. He is also different in another significant way: with the very rare exception (basically Jeff Sessions and Kris Christy) all of the relevant and influential republicans in elected federal office vehemently decried him during the election. Not that they just did not endorse him, but very forcefully - and some quite eloquently - declared him unfit for office and likely to lead to a disastrous result. They continued doing so, many of them, event after he won their party's nomination. They did so right up until the time when he got sworn in. Once elected, they held their noses and the thinking became "yes, he is a son of a bitch, but now he really is our son of a bitch"! Party affiliation required them to dance with him. But the assessment of his character has not been changed by his conduct or the events of the last 18 months. And Trump has absolutely demonstrated that all those thoughtful republicans who warned the nation away from him were absolutely dead on! They had him pegged and nailed. He is exactly as bad as they knew he would be. If not, worse. And of course it wasn't just Republican politicians. It was analysts and thinking people from all over journalism and community discourse who knew he was bad news and articulated it!
Look, it's clear to all now that he is a pathological liar, and a scoundrel with no moral or ethical compass, and - despite his undoubtedly sincere belief that he is a really stable genius - we know he is no intellectual powerhouse. And we know, just in terms of emotional maturity, he is a quite poorly adjusted adult. Never has this nation ever repudiated a president to the degree that we now do with Trump. Even those who work beside him now are people who, before the election, eloquently and passionately begged the nation not to do this. They saw the writing on the wall, it would be horrible! It has been just that. And based on how we know things end for persons like this, it's probably going to get worse as the rats free the sinking ship leaving him more isolated with just him, his demons and his con games. I think we have good cause to be worried, America. Very worried.

I agree with what you have said. My question is these republicans who didn’t supported him before he was elected don’t have the courage to speak out now for fear of not being reelected. Obviously, they are concerned about losing their position in the house.

We all need to get out and vote in November.

Yes, but he is just a symptom of the underlaying problem, our political system was hijacked by corporations, bankers, and the Pentagon in the 80s. In some senses he is just a distraction.
