LINK Opinion: Joe Biden Is The White Moderate Dr. King Warned Us About - Essence

"Later reports added that Biden also mentioned his fondness for segregationist Georgia Gov. Herman Talmadge, saying of both of the white supremacists, “At least there was some civility. We got things done. We didn’t agree on much of anything. We got things done. We got it finished. But today you look at the other side and you’re the enemy. Not the opposition, the enemy. We don’t talk to each other anymore.”"

Biden should have said it like this;"I am sad we didn't have the votes to pass more meaningful civil rights legislation, as you know racists in congress vote also. We decided to pass what we could although flawed and wait for another day for the public, who we are beholden to, to catch up with the moral imperatives we knew to be true." Better half a loaf than none.

And he also said that Senator never called him "boy." Which is, at this very moment, causing quite a stir. Cory Booker and a slew of others are all over this little piece of Joe Biden. And rightfully so.

While his embracing of those relationships is rather disgusting, that's how a democracy is supposed to work - all voices heard, and they are the opposition, not the enemy.

While valid on its face, the GOP is like the abusive partner. Blocking the Mereck Garland nomination is but one example.

My feeling is that Joe's bipartisanship will consist of compromising as much as is needed to got the right on board. At that point, he might as well run as a Republican.

@WilliamCharles absolutely.

That's how it's supposed to work. Its not now because of the GOP, and specifically the religious right who don't believe in compromise, because god doesnt compromise. Their takeover of the GOP primary proccess fucked this country for decades to come.

Fucking religion.
