Not sure how you can have a 'relationship' (a healthy fulfilling one anyway) without it.

It actually became more important as I got older. I think because youthful hormones can override a lot of... incompatibility. After 30 I started needing a lot more.... compatibility.

It is a good thing, but there is so much more that is needed. If that is all you have, it won't last. Without it, depends on you and the other person. I'm sure Virgina Woolfe loved her husband greatly; but they had little to no sex for a couple reasons- her preference to women and a doctor saying a baby would kill her.
