I find it offensive when people try to guilt me into participating in prayer, whether at a dinner or a football game. I'm sure that a lifetime of rude behavior has made me sensitive on the subject, but enough already. Can I just eat and enjoy the game please?

Usually, I just stand or sit quietly without bowing my head and closing my eyes. I don't try to draw attention to myself, but occasionally, someone notices. More rare than that, someone will actually say something. They usually regret that.

I was raised to believe it was polite to bow my head and pretend to go along with it. I haven't done that in years. I will stand quietly and wait during a public or group prayer and just look around. If I catch a disapproving look from a Christian, I just grin, because "Hey, Christian, you're looking around, too, or you wouldn't be noticing what I'm doing!"

I think the same thing. They are the people I actually want to say something to, but don't. "I'm not the one that believes, but your the one looking around"
