Swear to tell the truth "so help me god?"

It has been a while since jury duty in Madison, WI, but are there instances or locations where we raise the right hand and swear to tell the truth "so help me god"? Could I say "no"? Could I explan I don't believe in a god? Has anyone done that? Or is it best to just go along?
