During the Pledge of Allegiance, do you?

While reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, I omit the words"under God." I sometimes wonder if anyone around me notices.

If you are an American, do you ever do this? If so, has anyone ever said anything to you about it?

I wasn't an Atheist the last time I said the pledge.

I haven't taken a pledge of allegiance since l was in the Army in the late 60s.

Atheists have called it ‘the prayer of allegiance’ for some time now.. Years ago, I’d simply finish ..two words ahead. Recently, I stand silently. I am ashamed of my nation 😟

As a public school teacher in Texas we said the pledge every morning and I always omitted god, After saying it so many times I have been "grandfathered" and never have to recite it again. 🙂
