Question: if there is a significantly big pile of excrement in a room, and it stays there for four years. Will it be possible to clean the stench from the walls and the furniture afterward?

It takes a long, long time… Most, as past behavior has shown.. are too soon willing to live with it. It seems there are always too few in the room willing to make the effort to clean it … while the rest ignore their efforts. Some, born into it, will have no recollection of the stench not being there, it’s their normal. And sickeningly, everyone else's new normal 😕

Can’t you so easily imagine the old ones ... muttering to themselves ..while on their knees scrubbing, and scrubbing.. Helping each other remove, beat, dry in the sun ..then rehang those tattered drapes … till they drop..

I understand where the ‘burn it down’ mentality comes from. Perhaps eventually, we will. A dangerous and costly project, though ~

Well, this gives us a tangible example of the idea that “every country has the government that it deserves”. Indeed the burn it down method would be a very dangerous and costly move. And then trying to rebuild te Union would be next to impossible. Most likely it would be a long and harsh process, and the big problem is that we now have militias armed to the teeth, very eager to kill anyone slightly different to them, and most surely eager to stake a claim on an extent of territory. Back to the feudal times but with automatic assault rifles. The sad corollary to this is that all empires have a demise, and a corrupt and inept government is the first sign of the rotting going on inside (think Caligula).

@Rodatheist I agree completely 😟

In the US, we still possess the ability to take it back, if barely. Most appear to now understand the process, be paying attention, and realize their mistake. But they soon go complacent, allowing propagandistic evil-owned once illegal (with the Fairness Doctrine) far-wrong media outlets to sway them ..just enough for the vestiges of that evil to maintain their grip on power ..and make another comeback...

@Varn Sadly true.

We're all wondering that!
