What saddens me as a human is our single focus on issues concerning racism and discrimination. After being demonised by our glorious leaders groups suddenly become the cause celebrity of many; We've had Muslims, gays and now people of African American decent.
Yet it is open season on Chinese people it seems, that discrimination is OK. Now I have Asian friends and family who have been spat on in Australia because of crap politicians say to excite, pushing their agenda.
I do support protests going on, police the world over have become far too militarised and not held to account, especially in the US. I hope change happens for the better over there, honestly do.
Guess I'm just trying to say people are people and people are individuals so try to judge (if you must) as such. Grouping people in collective judgment because of their appearance is never a good thing and very closed minded.
A nations people are not the same as a nations policy makers.

The politicians have to blame someone or some ethnic group for the problems real or imagined to win at any costs!!!
We are suffering from what the right calls socialism on the left, while the left shows that the right is Fascists!
Both sides are partially right, one side is hell bent on cheating to win at any cost, that is Fascism re-emerging around the world upheld by the wealthy and their corporations!!!

There's just so many racists and bigots in this country (and elsewhere) and far too many are in positions of power either in our government, corporations, wealth, or religion. It's an uphill battle for equality and social reform. Every minority (as well as women) that has lived in the U.S. since it's foundation has been the target of discrimination, hatred, and violence. Racism and bigotry may never be eliminated from society, but the best we can do is make it so that it's not tolerated, those who are racists and bigots are marginalized, and laws are established to protect minorities and women from discrimination.
