Been flirting with this nonidentity label:
Maybe related to my interest in critical theory and post-structuralism.
Or ironic recognition of identity politics as slammed by prominent new atheists. Ok this one is harshly critical of NA:
Though I’m at a loss for what Dennett has done wrong aside from his overly enthusiastic embrace of memetics (yuck) and his non-libertarian defense of free will in which I see merit. Oh his attack on Gould in Darwin’s Dangerous Idea. That upset me. Damn you Dennett.
But yeah what happens when atheism just fails to describe you as an identity. It is, regardless of the atheist intelligentsia maligning of the labeling, “identity politics”. There are church-state separation litigations no? Not mocking that important aspect but atheists are as invested as any other minority group in defending their rights. Beyond that noble but unidimensional cause what is there? Proselytizing street epistemology style?
