"The Ghost Map," by Steven Johnson, traces the discovery of what actually causes Cholera, in London.
The physician, John snow, created the field of epidemiology in the process. He had to deal with a very obstinate London mayor who "knew" that the disease was spread by miasma as mentioned in the Nation article. At the time.of course, science was not advanced as it is now. Now, we have a science denying FUCKWAD running the show!

It's funny how the ignorant "know" so much and cause so many to die.

The problem is that politics has made science and education irrelevant, whether it's climate change, vaccines or Covid-19.
