What DHS has put together is the US equivalent of Thatcher's National Riot Police, of the 1980s. Except that the National Trumpy Pigs are drawn from so many agencies, they probably trip over each others' jackboot laces, trying to figure out whose in command, who does what first, who gets dibs on the Delta Force 'Michigan' commancho helmets w/ built-in radios, and who has to use less'cool' radios, who gets to pile into the armored 'Black Melanias:, and who has to settle for the less 'cool: rented SUVs from Enterprise.
Also, these National Trumpy Pigs are probably picking up two paychecks--one from their actual agency, and another from DHS.
And getting paid half as much, the local cops must resent the Darth Vader intrusion on their turf .While the National Guard must resent all of the above, getting paid half of what the local cops get. On the positive side, DHS can't afford to field large numbers of these nitwits, on account of the oversized payroll!
