Funny, but just listed a new Netflix series "Connections" and the first episode was on surveillance. A father showed himself placing their young child in he pen/bed and how he felt he was putting him in a sort of prison. Then they added a camera to keep track of his sleeping and then discovered they would spend a lot of time watching the view.
When my daughter was born she would sleep the whole night without waking up even once. This went on night after night for 3 years. No, there was nothing to be gained from watching her sleep.
