Voter suppression definitely.
Pay with either your life or a lot of your money is what the GOP expects.

Voter suppression. The Boards of Election know how many voters there are, and how long they take to vote.

The lines are evidence that Americans value democracy — at least on the two or three days each year that we have it.

Plenty of voter suppression. But it looks like big turnout as well, judging by early voting. Of course part of the early voting spike must be due to the pandemic and people wanting to avoid the polling places.

I hope that the voter suppression bites the suppressors in the butt. But that may be wishful thinking. Here in Madison, Biden signs are everywhere, practically no Trump signs. I drove the back roads through rural areas and saw nothing but Trump signs. Madison, being very progressive, makes it very easy to vote. (We had early voting and registration in neighborhood public parks two weekends already.) So, if the big cities and progressive states make voting easy and red states don't, maybe it will be karma.

But 11 hours waiting in line to vote is a travesty. The same ones who suppress the vote wrap themselves in a pretense of patriotism. But what is more hypocritical and unamerican than throttling democracy?
