Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Could be......Look no further than a majority of big Chumps followers. Older, less educated, as well as religious. And mostly all come from rural parts of the US, which, also happen to be some of the poorest.

Not easy for indoctrinated lifelongs to reform.
That's an elitist answer. Education cannot overcome the desperation caused by deprivation. The best way to eliminate religion is to eliminate inequality and poverty. If you want to be an effective atheist, learn about the world outside of atheism. Do something to eliminate the causes of desperation in people's lives. Otherwise, you're just wagging a snobbish finger at those less privileged than you who try to find some desperate meaning to their wretched existence.

I agree that desperation and fear feed religion but that does not account for the many well to do and educated people who also believe. Some people need religion. It provides an order and peace that they need and cannot find without it.
