Excellent piece. It reminds me of how the distraction of the focus on the elaborate hats at the Kentucky Derby serves to mask the dark side of horse racing, so that the privilege involved is accepted without a thought.
The piece is indeed not about the intermonarchal feud.
I think this is a well rehearsed strategy to keep the Royals relevant by connecting them to younger generations in u$a and concocting this marriage to advance racial progress. You know, they lead through family growth and greater acceptance kind of thing. I think they are aware of losing the people's belief in them and, without that, they are history.
Didn't see it either, but see the MSM run with it.
On MSDNC they had some stony-faced fossil associated with Majesty Magazine opine about how nobody cares what Markle had to say as she was only about getting attention for herself. As far as nobody caring, I felt the same should hold for the royals. Having recently watched The Crown, it was a reminder that there are entire industries that serve to kiss their pampered anachronistic butts.
And for those in doubt, this is really a thing. Waiting for the banner headline, "The Peasants Are Revolting!"
