“Nobody thinks that there’s anything to be gained from bipartisanship politically anymore. There are a few people who still think that it’s really important in itself,” Adam Jentleson, once the deputy chief of staff to the former Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid and the author of Kill Switch, told me. “But even those people have a hard time arguing that it’s more important than actually delivering results.”
With the elevation of gun control to Democrats already overloaded list of existential problems (which guns are not part of so I am against this inclusion) I fear the loss of Congress in 2022. Democrats still have not learned to stop letting a current event yank their collar so that they lose focus and support. Theocratic Fascism will still ensue if we lose 2022 but the well intentioned can't help themselves.
