I was thinking this couldn't be true and was tabloid journalism but Smithsonian is a pretty well respected site. I would hope this doesn't mean he was Pro-Nazi. I think not.

If you've studied Tesla at all you would know that he was more than a bit nutty.
sometimes that comes with brilliance unfortunately.
He had a plan for transmitting electricity through the atmosphere that would have a) been very inefficient and b) made radio impossible.
