The checker is adding up people’s bills in their head and that’s hard to do if people are talking about numbers.

They really ought to invest in a cash register.

Q 14. If you are at the checkout, and there are four people in front of you, one with nine items and three with five. It normally takes 20 seconds to scan and pack an item, plus thirty five seconds to take payment and give change to each customer. But the assistant likes to gossip for an average of ninety seconds extra with each customer. How long before you get fed up and p##s off ? Please show all your workings.
