I still can't understand why some religious people think 45 is some kind of holy man or present from god.

I think it comes, in part, from the idea of god rewarding those he favors with wealth, a part of prosperity (gospel) culture. There is also the mistaken idea that Trumps (so called) reality TV show, was an indicator that he was a savvy businessman. The reality of the show is that the producers had to "edit for logic", because a lot of Trump's decisions on the show didn't make sense and had to be fixed in post production. Howeve rmany viewers believe what they see on TV and think it was all real.
