The gubernatorial recall in California is quite interesting on so many levels. If Gavin Newsom is recalled and Larry Elder wins, he will immediately declare an emergency on the US Border and the homelessness crisis in California. Also, Elder promises solutions to the water crisis as in building reservoirs and to get away from the idiotic green energy boondoggle that has seen rolling blackouts throughout the state because green energy is unable to meet the needs of Californians.

While in office, Newsom has overseen more Californians leave than have moved in. Progressive DAs like George Gascon and Chesa Boudin have seen skyrocketing levels of crime in San Francisco and LA respectively. Shoplifting is so bad in San Francisco because theft at $950 or less is a misdemeanor, Walgreen’s has shut down 15 locations in SF alone! As mentioned, California has a huge homeless problem. Also, in cities like San Francisco, junkies shoot up in full view and defecate in front of businesses.

Speaking of businesses, under Newsom, California is the least business-friendly state. He locked down the state completely during the COVID crisis but allowed for studios to be exempt for said lockdowns all the while restaurants next to film crews were forced to shut down. This is same Gavin Newsom who was eating dinner without a mask or social distancing at French Laundry, the ludicrously expensive restaurant that he billed the taxpayers for $14,000.

Extending the hypocrisy, Newsom made sure his winery was exempt from COVID guidelines. Newsom has bungled $30 billion in for the CA treasury in unemployment claims. Newsom’s wife asked Rose McGowan, the progenitor of #Metoo to hush up about Harvey Weinstein and his sleazy treatment of women like Rose. Why not? As mayor of San Francisco, he had an affair with his aide while married.

Newsom has been a disaster for California. He has decimated the state economically and socially to the point where the only hope for the state is anyone other than Newsom. Of course, the teacher’s unions have given him $50 million in donations and Hollywood backs him, along with the outlets like the LA Times, who has called Elder “the black face of white supremacy,” which is ludicrous. Even hacks like Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren are stumping for him. What does all these simpletons have in common? None of them said that Newsom has done a good job. The realize that if Elder wins and as governor, if he gets the chance to replace Barbara Boxer, who is pushing 90, he will nominate a Republican. Californians, if you do not vote for Elder, at least recall Newsom. Of course, you already have Shenanigans with vote-counting and ballot harvesting so any chance of recall might fail.

Also, forgot to mention, Newsom slashed the budget in half for forest management, which has led to uncontrollable forest fires. Of course, due to the fact that he is an irresponsible twat, he says climate change is to blame

Additionally his ideas on education seem more genuinely progressive than anything the Left is currently offering and especially during these times of covid. I believe this could be a true breakthrough, though I wouldn't think all government oversight should be removed. There should still be some checking in.

A large majority of blacks in particular support school choice but surprise, surprise, the teacher’s union opposes it

@Heavykevy1985 I don't understand these results today. I can't make sense of it. I guess Californians don't like having water or improved access to education.

@Flowerwall California is super-majority Democrat. As expected

If Elder loses at the ballot box, will his supporters here turn to the ammo box?

Really? Remember anarchists and black bloc doing the same?

1/3 of small businesses permanently closed? That is failed government. It failed.

To put that in perspective for you, for just one example, , 80% of new restaurants fail within the first 2 years, and that was in boom times.

@AnneWimsey We aren't discussing new restaurants only. These are all business types.

@AnneWimsey Were there not actions the gov ciuld have taken to stop some of this?

@AnneWimsey yeah but these restaurants were shut down by the government, not because they failed.
