So do we want more of this? I guess the bigger cities will get it as conditions and quality of life continues to deteriorate there.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Why not make these high-risk stores work like Costco, where you have to be a member and even insert your card in a reader at the door, while the video-cam watches you. When such an event happens, they'll know who did it from the aisle cameras. Otherwise, Amazon just wins again. It needs to be stopped and the perps caught and punished. Closing stores just moves the crime to other stores.

That was an excellent idea for the areas where excessive crime is the problem. Closing stores also means people who are economically disadvantaged just had their lives get made much harder. Imagine sick or elderly not being able to get their medication or other basic necessities. We can't allow our society to just erode like this. Another approach would be utilizing traditional policing methods, because what is the alternative?
