Problem is people refuse to take any responsibility for the ills of the road. They always need to find some scapegoats and faux noise provides that. It's the stupidity gene in too many of us.
Absolutely true and predatory behavior. They knew their vulnerable, mostly elderly, poor and/or poorly educated victims well.

They know what sells and it does. Too many go for 'news' sources that is more entertaining than real news.
@JackPedigo I am also convinced that they are the propaganda arm of the republican party.

The only thing they want those folks to hear is what and who to fear and who is to blame. Broken down that's the sum total of their message.
