LINK Joan Didion Interview and Teaching
We lost her last year and this is not only an incredible intro to her work but how she created it. Joan acknowledges that her speaking style is not as direct as her writing style so try to overlook that surprise. As a guy who wrote a book (which was somewhat similar to Don't Look Up but much better done, haha) I can vouch for being able to choose words more carefully, edit out redundancies, and be clever. Tips on writing are rarely this good. So it goes but her departure is more than a literary loss.
