Seen this before. Suggest you look at similar data from Iran, Libya and Venezuela.....even Syria. Perhaps you may find a pattern.
Without NATO creeping 800km East since the fall of the Berlin wall, siting missiles in places like Poland and their aggressive military participation in Bosnia, Iraq, Syria and Libya, I don't think Russia would be threatened so much they feel the need to act.
War is not good, but in this case I don't think the seizure of Ukraine's resources is the goal. It's to stop NATO moving in there. It is NATO that wishes to expand, Russia has decided "no more" and seeks to consolidate the boundaries. That's the way I see it.
Can't post the link here, but if you look at th US embassy Ukraine page, seems several biolabs, funded by US, have been built in the Ukraine these last few years. They were amongst the first targets.
Let us all hope it gets sorted and does not spill over to other countries.

@creative51 The last 40 years it has not been Russia who has been expanding; who has the most garrisons around the world? By far the biggest military budget? What is the only country who utilises predator drones with zero accountability?
I do agree nation states should be broken up. It's a great shame no Americans really believe in their own constitution, because if they did, there would be no standing army just state militias, who could fight amongst themselves rather than threaten other nations. I'm sure Sth American countries would agree.
Hopefully Putin is successful in ridding Ukraine of neo-nazi's, the ones Biden loves and put in power as VP in the 2014 coup, whilst destroying Libya at the same time (what a fucking sick joke it is that Obama got the peace prize). Then maybe he can turn his attention to rid that other nation of an uninvited peacekeeping neo-nazi force; the arseholes who have invaded and secured the Northern oilfields in Syria. Fuck NATO, the destroyers of Libya..

@creative51 Oh but they are. We both agree that Ukraine should be a FULLY independent country militarily like Finland and Sweden.
Both NATO and Russia should pull their heads in, those two causing this from their geopolitical posturing more than any other. Both supported the extremists on opposing sides in what is really, an artificially encouraged civil war.
