Wow…that’s a big show! Our earth produces some amazing and very beautiful mineral formations.

That show has always been huge. It takes over the city.
Back in the 70s I worked as a motel night auditor and there were no available rooms anywhere in the Tucson area.
One of our regulars came in one time asking if there was anything we could do for him. We ended up giving him a rollaway bed in a meeting room because there was no place else for him to sleep.
Ha, ha.

Tucson Gem show happens first two weeks of February, every year. Entire city is descended upon by treasures from all over the world. Vendors from Mina's Gerais, Brazil to Madagascar to Tanzania display their most spectacular specimens. Over 300 shows! Impossible to see everything.
