This comes up as a Facebook memory occasionally and I like to share it because of what I learned in the little museum about the civil war.

This is called the Ludwig drum in a small museum in Mt Pleasant NC. It belonged to my great great uncle who used it in the civil war. One of the most interesting things I learned about it and that bloody war was that they often called a truce on Saturdays and band members from both sides would get together and play music.

Perhaps if we elected more musicians our Congress could get along at least once a week.

The Republicans don't understand the word "civil."

Sadly that is true
