I found this article interesting. From guitar.com, an interview with Ritchie Blackmore, Deep Purple, on Jeff Beck's complaining about Jimi Hendrix. While Beck was, and still is, one of rocks great guitarists, this does seem to confirm some of the stories about his overly large ego.
