As I have said about All Quiet On The Western Front, it is both beautiful and terrible at the same time, and that the truth is not always beautiful, but it is certainly magnificent. This movie is something you will not forget if you watch it. Because of the Russian subtitles, you may want to slow down the playback speed to improve the subtitle reading. Americans who have never seen war have a huge black hole between their ears when it comes to comprehending just how horrible was is. This movie is NOT Russian propaganda, it was filmed in 1985!
