Possibly this political situation was caused by the heightened importance of winning at all costs? Sports. Two teams ramming heads in an insanely overheated effort to be on top? American culture really stressed achieving and winning over the last 40 years, along with religion, so maybe this is the ultimate result of that attitude? We see in soccer that it's not only an American fervor so it would explain other political unrest. Those of us who have never been into sports told ya all that winning is a pathetic goal.
